Shipping Net Zero – The Green Future of Blue Transport
May 10 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
We explore the strategies and innovations companies and organizations are leveraging to mitigate the environmental impact of maritime emissions.
85,000 oceangoing vessels transport more than 80% of the world’s commodities every year, and they contribute up to 3% of global CO2 emissions. And high demand for shipping worldwide means maritime emissions have been accelerating faster than most other sectors, meaning that without action shipping could be responsible for up to 13% of global emissions within a few decades.
How can the marine sector reduce its carbon footprint? What are the innovations powering change and adaptation? And what does the future hold for net zero shipping?
COAST Talks welcomes an industry expert and two innovative entrepreneurs to discuss the bold ideas and disruptive technologies driving the movement to decarbonize shipping.
