The Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies (COAST) seeks up to 6 new board members to serve 3-year terms commencing on September 27, 2023.
COAST is driving innovation in Pacific Canada’s Blue Economy by:
- Helping industry find commercial solutions to key challenges facing the ocean sector
- Supporting start-ups and new ventures
- Engaging Indigenous leadership in the Blue Economy; and
- Attracting talent, capital and partnerships to grow businesses in British Columbia.
Board applicants should be driven by the belief that they can make a difference in the future of Pacific Canada’s Blue Economy by leveraging their experience, skills and connections in one or more of the following areas: Clean growth, accounting, legal, industry transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship, business, technology, economic development, equity, diversity and inclusion.
COAST is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, which is why we have signed on to the Federal Government’s 50 – 30 Challenge asking that organizations aspire to two goals:
1/ Gender parity (“50%”) on Canadian board(s) and senior management; and
2/ Significant representation (“30%”) on Canadian board(s) and senior management of other under-represented groups, including racialized persons, people living with disabilities (including invisible and episodic disabilities) and members of the LGBTQ2 community.
